Fiber optic jumpers

Fiber Optic Jumper

Fiber optic jumpers

What is fiber optic jumpers?
Fiber optic jumpers refers to a optical fiber directly link the equipment and components in the fiber optic networks, to facilitate the connection of equipment and management. Used to do from device to optical fiber wiring link jump wire. Thick layer of protection, which generally used in optical transceiver and the connection between the terminal box.

The Structure of the fiber optic jumper:

Fiber optic jumpers are similar with the coaxial cable, but there are no mesh shield inside it.The center is light propagation glass core. In the multimode optical fiber, the core diameter is 15 μ m ~ 50 μ m, roughly and quite substantially with the thickness of a human hair. And single-mode fiber core diameter to 8 μ m ~ 10 μ m. Outside the core surrounded by a layer of refractive index than core low glass envelope, in order to make optical fiber to remain in within the core. To the outside is a layer of thin plastic coat to protect the cuff.

The classification of fiber optic jumpers:

According to the transmission medium ,fiber optic jumpers can be divided into common silicon base fiber single-mode and multimode optical jumpers, and others such as plastic as transmission medium optical fiber jumper;
According to the joint structure forms,fiber optic jumpers can be divided into: FC  , SC, ST , LC, MTRJ, MPO , MU, SMA, FDDI and E2000, DIN4, D4 and so on various forms. More common optical fiber jumpers can also be divided into FC - FC, SC, FC - FC - LC, FC - ST, SC - SC, SC, ST, etc.
Single-mode Fiber :
generally the color is yellow,
connector and protective sleeve are blue;
longer transmission distance.
Multimode Fiber:
generally the color is orange, some with gray,
joints and protection are beige or black;
transmission distance is short .

What is fiber optic cable and assemblies

     What is fiber optic cable and assemblies

Fiber optic cable (optical fiber cable) is mainly constituted by the optical fiber (fiberglass) as thin as a hair and plastic protective casing and plastic sheath, and metals such as gold, silver, copper and aluminum in the fiber optic cable, usually no recycling value. The fiber optic cable and also the fiber optic jumpers is a certain number of optical fiber in accordance with certain the cable core outsourcing jacket, and some coated outer sheath for optical signal transmission of a communication line. Namely: the cable is formed after a certain process by the optical fiber (optical transmission carrier).Fiber optic jumpers are also an obbligato part in the telecommunication.

An optical fiber (or optical fibre) is a flexible, transparent fiber made of glass (silica) or plastic, slightly thicker than a human hair. It functions as a waveguide, or “light pipe”, to transmit light between the two ends of the fiber.The field of applied science and engineering concerned with the design and application of optical fibers is known as fiber optics.

As is known to all, we JFOPT supply the fiber optic cable and other assemblies such as fiber optic jumpers, the category varies with its connectors, such as the LC,SC/APC,ST, E2000/APC,MU, VF45,FC, MT-RJ, SC, MPO, Volition,MTP, FC/APC, ST/APC, LC/APC. Anyhow we promise all the buyers the best service and the fiber optic cables and other assemblies and fiber optic jumpers  with the highest Qualities. Fiber optic patch cord and fiber optic jumpers is the essential part of the the desktop computer or device directly connected to the fiber, aiming to facilitate device connectivity and management.

Types of the fiber optic cables

Types of the fiber optic cables----a serious problem of the fiber optic cables

In terms of the fiber optic cables, there are thousands of kinds to classify the types of fiber optic cables according to different sorting technique.
To know about the fiber optic cables’ type thoroughly, we have to master what is fiber optic cables at first.
An optical fiber cable is a cable containing one or more optical fibers. The optical fiber elements are typically individually coated with plastic layers and contained in a protective tube suitable for the environment where the cable will be deployed.

Now I share something more about the fiber optic Cable’s types:
A:
•    OFC: Optical fiber, conductive
•    OFN: Optical fiber, nonconductive
•    OFCG: Optical fiber, conductive, general use
•    OFNG: Optical fiber, nonconductive, general use
•    OFCP: Optical fiber, conductive, plenum
•    OFNP: Optical fiber, nonconductive, plenum
•    OFCR: Optical fiber, conductive, riser
•    OFNR: Optical fiber, nonconductive, riser
•    OPGW: Optical fiber composite overhead ground wire
•    ADSS: All-Dielectric Self-Supporting
B:classify according the Color coding
1.Patch cords----types of fiber optic cables
The buffer or jacket on patchcords is often color-coded to indicate the type of fiber used. The strain relief "boot" that protects the fiber from bending at a connector is color-coded to indicate the type of connection. Connectors with a plastic shell (such as SC connectors) typically use a color-coded shell. Standard color codings for jackets and boots (or connector shells) are shown below:
Buffer/jacket color    Meaning
Yellow    single-mode optical fiber

Orange    multi-mode optical fiber

Aqua    10 gig laser-optimized 50/125 micrometer multi-mode optical fiber
Grey    outdated color code for multi-mode optical fiber

Blue    Sometimes used to designate polarization-maintaining optical fiber

Connector Boot    Meaning    Comment
Blue    Physical Contact (PC), 0°    mostly used for single mode fibers; some manufacturers use this for polarization-maintaining optical fiber.

Green    Angle Polished (APC), 8°
Black    Physical Contact (PC), 0°
Grey,    Beige    Physical Contact (PC), 0°    multimode fiber connectors
White    Physical Contact (PC), 0°
Red        High optical power. Sometimes used to connect external pump lasers or Raman pumps.
Remark: It is also possible that a small part of a connector is additionally colour-coded, e.g. the leaver of an E-2000 connector or a frame of an adapter. This additional colour coding indicates the correct port for a patchcord, if many patchcords are installed at one point.
 2.Multi-fiber cables----types of fiber optic cables
Individual fibers in a multi-fiber cable are often distinguished from one another by color-coded jackets or buffers on each fiber. The identification scheme used by Corning Cable Systems is based on EIA/TIA-598, "Optical Fiber Cable Color Coding." EIA/TIA-598 defines identification schemes for fibers, buffered fibers, fiber units, and groups of fiber units within outside plant and premises optical fiber cables. This standard allows for fiber units to be identified by means of a printed legend. This method can be used for identification of fiber ribbons and fiber subunits. The legend will contain a corresponding printed numerical position number and/or color for use in identification.[13]
